Suppose you’re at home or a hotel and your flight leaves in 3-4 hours. You check the airline’s website and it shows, “on time.” When you arrive at the airport a couple hours later, the status is now, “delayed – late plane arriving.”
There is a way you could have determined this before you left for the airport. Pull up www.FlightAware.com on your phone or other device. Punch in the flight information and it will tell you where the plane you’ll use for your flight is currently flying or parked. Maybe your plane is inbound from a city that is experiencing severe weather. Maybe you’ll see it’s leaving late from the gate in the other city therefore, it will be late arriving.
FlightAware is also great for tracking flights. Recently, my two grandsons flew alone and had a connection in Dallas. We tracked both flights so we knew there weren’t any delays and our boys probably made their connection.
