**Senior Alert** Virgin Atlantic may deny boarding because of your dental work

by

If you plan to fly Virgin Atlantic airlines, you might want to forego the visit to the dentist if it’s within 48 hours of your flight.

This airline has a rule that passengers that have had simple dental work, including fillings, may not board within 48 hours after the visit to their dentist.  Also, a general anesthetic could cause the same delay.  The airline feels the pressurization of the cabin can cause trapped air pockets in your dental work to cause pain.

Many airlines have rules like this tucked away in the fine print of the passenger contract.  For example, American Airlines can deny boarding if you smell bad.  United airlines can deny boarding if your clothing may be offensive to other passengers.  A group of female travelers had identical t-shirts reading, “Bitches on vacation.”  They were not allowed to board until changing their shirts.
