Getting around TSA 311 rule

by

Most travelers know about the TSA 311 rule – You are allowed to carry-on liquids less than 3.4 ounces in a one-quart bag. However, many don’t know that you can have as many bottles of liquids as you can stuff into that one-quart bag.

We purchase small refillable bottles at Walmart and fill each with shampoo, conditioner, sunblock, etc.. Then, we put them all inside a one-quart ziplock bag. Viola!

Another tip is to buy items at your destination. Of course, it has to be convenient for you to do that.

I always put a supply of Nyquil and Dayquil in my carry-on. One time I came down with a cold and it was very frustrating trying to find the correct cold medicine at a pharmacy in Munich. From that trip forward, I always take cold medicine as long as it follows the 311 fule.

Finally, they are specialty travel packs already filled with various sundries. Check these out on Amazon or your favorite retailer.
